Welcome to 2018! A new year of edginess, sophistication , and creativeness. I wanted to start off the year extremely different than the rest by mixing up my wardrobe to not only bring you all some style but a unique sense of combination that you can actually implement it to your daily life, or at least when you go out.
I have found that breaking the rules when wearing a sophisticated item can go very well if worn correctly and minimally. The perfect example is a pearl dress. Pearls are known to be the gem of showing sophistication, so I decided to spice it up and pair it with tights and chunky neutral heels. It says I’m sophisticated but I’m also not taking my self too seriously.
New Years Eve is here and I’m so excited to start fresh! I don’t know about you but I’m so eager to get 2018 rollin through and accomplishing 3 tasks I have set my mind to. Over the past years I have noticed how frustrating it would be for me to welcome the new year, especially during the week of my birthday because I would turn a year older and notice how I had not managed to meet my personal goals, and to top it off the new year was approaching and I had nothing to show for.
Of course being young means making a TON of mistakes, but I plan on making this year my last. So, the question is, what 3 things do I plan on doing different this 2018?
Winter is almost here, even though here in California it seems more like fall.
I can’t complain too much though because the weather has been tricky and wearing sweaters has been a tad bit dreary due to the semi heat we get. But with that being said, I am more than excited for winter to arrive because I want to wear my top 3 winter staples each and every day.
The first is the TRENCH COAT
It is a must in my closet. It’s the best fashion accessory to wear for any occasion. Layer anything under and top it off with the trench. It’s a warmer indeed.
I may not always wear joggers or sweats, but since the weather has been cooling down I haven’t really felt like wearing my jeans each time I go out for quick errands. So of course I had to go to SHEIN.com
They have the most affordable and cute clothing anyone could ever ask for. It fits my budget, keeps me happy, and makes me stay stylish. I was completely in love with the jacket and jogging pants I found. They make me feel very comfy and flexible at the same time, which usually is pretty tough for me to find items that make me feel at ease, so this was definitely a win win for me!
While I love to be in plain ol t-shirts, there is just no escaping my love for casual chicness. I love that the weather is finally getting some sense into itself and longs levees are sounding super perfect!
Pairing pajama shirts with classic blue jeans and colorful heels, or sneakers, are what brings my creativeness out. Who doesn’t like to look good and feel creative at the same time 🙂 Its the perfect shirt for casual outings in the city. Just in time for thanksgiving.
After taking time off for a much needed “me time”, I learned that I should do that more often (okay, maybe not every week) but in doing so it allows me to discover and imput new things that I probably would have never thought of, or even pictured myself wearing into my everyday life. This of course leads me to sports bras.
Now I personally have always had a great body, that obviously was before I got pregnant, and to be super honest….I had been avoiding wearing anything that could possibly show my stomach. Even the tiniest peekaboo, I would pass on it. It never occurred to me that after being a mom I was not going to be myself again (body wise). I tried a ton of ways to lose my flabby belly skin. I even got to the point were I was willing to take pills in order to lose my fatness. And it turned out to be the greatest thing that I could have stumbled upon.
I learned that being a mom does not mean that you are restricted from wearing certain things. We (moms) are the rocks of our families, and sure we may never have some alone time ever again, but that is the beauty of motherhood. And since we always put ourselves last, in fashion we should put ourselves first! Respecting and learning to love our bodies is worth more than any materialistic object. So go ahead and wear your favorite sports bra with your office blazer or coat! Our bodies deserve to be flaunted ❤
You might have guessed the title had something to do with Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas (which is my favorite movie) and it has a significance. You see we are always caught up with trends, who wore it best, who has the best style, … yadi yada, but the true meaning I find in fashion is the colorful life you can have by playing with different vibrant textiles.
This particular set blew my socks off when I was shopping at Target. It instantly gave me that life I needed inside me. It not only goes well together, but it makes you feel at your best by wearing it. Forget fashion, I want to be wearing what makes me feel me again and again. Don’t you?
